Wanna Buy a Bridge?

I got one here somewhere…

Today in 1870, construction on the Brooklyn Bridge began. I’m sure it’s just your size.

But today is about birthdays…and trilogies.

–          The best friend of Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf, Sauron and Gollum was born today in 1892. That would fantasy writer/scholar J. R. R. Tolkien. “One ring to rule them all…”

–          Today is also the birthday of character actor Josephine Hull (1886). Ms. Hull was totally befuddled and delightful as Elwood P. Dowd’s sister in the film; Harvey.

–          This one’s for you other hippie/geezers out there. Stephen Stills was born today in 1945. I have listened to his “Suite Judy Blue Eyes” for 40 years and I’m not tired of it yet. Sing it! “Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart.”

Drink 4cast 4 2day

Another birthday will inspire today’s bartending concoction.

Today in 1929, Sergio Leone was born. Mr. Leone was the director responsible for some of my favorite films. His genre was dubbed “Spaghetti Westerns” and they were violent, bizarre, and (to me at least) completely charming.  Oh yes, Mr. Tolkien had his trilogy, but so too did Mr. Leone. His films; A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly were classics. Let’s celebrate with a;

Spaghetti Western Cocktail

1 oz. Buccia Limoncello

1 oz. Durango Tequila

2 oz. Cream

Mix together and serve.

Keep singing! “I am yours. You are mine. You are what you are!”

Cheers!

Roger
