We Just Decided to Go

Today’s quote of the day

Today in 1956, actor Tom Hanks was born. I’m a huge fan. I not only like his big projects (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, APOLLO 13, FORREST GUMP, THE GREEN MILE), I like his smaller performances in films like A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and THAT THING YOU DO. He also seems like a decent guy. He said;

“From now on we live in a world where man has walked on the moon. It’s not a miracle; we just decided to go.”

We just decided to go.

That’s the country I want to live in.

It’s got a good beat – I’d give it an 80.

Dick Clark made his first television appearance on American Bandstand today in 1956.

It’s National Anti-Boredom Month!

Frankly, boredom is rarely a problem for me. I agree with fantasy writer Terry Pratchett; “Human beings make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to invent boredom.”

Well… we’ll fight back with an;

Ennui Cocktail

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

1 oz. Bombay Sapphire

1 oz. Green Chartreuse

The juice from one Lime

Shake with ice.

Let’s just decide to go.

Cheers,
