Porter Tasting Info, Saturday Dec. 12 @ Springhurst LB:

At Liquor Barn Springhurst, we’re thrilled to welcome Roger Baylor, owner of the New Albanian Brewing Company for a special tasting this Saturday, Dec. 12. Roger will be teaching a class on: “Porters: A History of the Style.”

We will be sampling five Porters, including the New Albanian Old 15-B Porter as well as their new seasonal, Solidarity. Solidarity is a small batch Baltic Porter (8.5% abv).  Liquor Barn was lucky enough to receive one of only five kegs distributed to Louisville! Once it is gone, it won’t be available again until next fall. In addition to the two NABC Porters, Roger has hand selected several other Porters for our tasting.

We will be tasting these Porters, in the following order:

Fuller’s London Porter
New Albanian 15-B Porter
New Albanian Solidarity
Stone Smoked Porter
Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter

With your $5 tasting fee, each cutomer will receive a 4 oz sample of each beer, served with cheeses and Blue Dog bread.  The Porter tasting will be in our Springhurst educational center, located near the front of our store. Space is limited. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity.  If you wish to pre-pay for your ticket, please ask for a manager or a member of the beer department to ring you up.  Hold on to your receipt, it is your ticket to the tasting. We will also have some New Albanian 1/2 gallon growlers on hand if you’d like to purchase any of the NABC beers on-tap.
