Liquor Barn is pleased to welcome Buffalo Trace’s John Vereeke for a guided Bourbon and Food tasting Friday, August 7 beginning at 6 p.m. at our new education center at our Springhurst store, just off Westport Road at Gene Snyder. This sensational sipping session will include great bourbons, food, and info on the distillery, history and taste profiles from Mr. Vereeke, and will conclude at 7:30 p.m. Pre-paid reservations are just $6 bucks a person and can be made at any Liquor Barn. We’ll be sampling four bodacious bourbons from Buffalo Trace Distillery including Hancock’s President’s Reserve Single Barrel, Sazerac Rye, Buffalo Trace, and Weller 7 year, 90 proof.


Our food courses at this August 7 Bourbon event at Liquor Barn will include: Kenny’s Brie with Buffalo Trace bourbon cherries, Meatballs in Blanton’s connoisseur sauce, Semi-Sweet chocolate chunks, Virginia Diner peanuts, crackers, pretzels and more!

  Buy a Try Beer Samplings: 5 beers from the Brooklyn Brewery @ All Liquor Barns, 5-7 pm Thursday and Friday, 3 to 6 pm Saturday! Just 50 cents each, or Buy a Try of all 5 for just 2 bucks!  

The Brooklyn Brewery first opened in 1994 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in a former matzo ball factory with Garrett Oliver as the Brewmaster.  Garret, a well known brewer since their opening has also been a judge at the Great American Beer Festival for 11 years. Their Brooklyn Lager is among the top drafts consumed in New York City.  

Brooklyn Lager $7.99 6pk A dry-hopped Amber Lager with a smooth caramel malt base balanced by a bitter, floral hop flavor.  5.2% abv Food Pairing: Pizza, Burgers, Mexican Food, Roasted Chicken, BBQ, Fried Fish, Pork, and Chinese dishes, Cheese( Baby Swiss, Colby, Emmentaler, Parmigiano-Regiano)  

Brooklyn Pennant Ale $7.99 6pk A medium-bodied English-Style Pale Ale with a toasted, biscuit-like, malt base and a crisp hop character.  5% abv. Food Pairing: Pizza, Roasted and Grilled Meats, Spicy Food, Burgers, Shellfish, Crab Cakes, Grilled Veggies, Cheese (Sharp Cheddar, Parmigiano-Regiano, Provolone)  

Brooklyn Brown Ale $7.99 6pk An American Brown Ale brewed with six different malts that gives this beer flavors of caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, and a hint of coffee.  The added hops help to round out the body while keeping it smooth and somewhat sweet.  5.6% abv. Food Pairing: Steaks, BBQ, Stews, Venison, Ham, Cheese (Aged Cheddar, Gouda, Gruyere, Asiago, Comte, Gloucester)  

Brooklyn East India Pale Ale $7.99 6pk An IPA brewed with British malts and 5 varieties of hops.  This beer is also dry-hopped to get flavors of lemongrass, citrus peel, and pine resin.  This beer is hoppy, yet still has a crisp and refreshing finish.  6.8% abv. Food Pairing: Spicy Food (Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican), Crab Cakes, Cheese (Chesire, Colby, Feta, Monterey/Pepper Jack)  

Brooklyn Local 2 – $8.99 750ml A Belgian-Style Strong Dark Ale with sweet and robust flavors of candy sugar, earthy spices and dark fruits.  The Belgian yeast used also plays a huge part in the flavor profile.   9% abv. Food Pairing: Cheese (Bleu, Cheddar, Gorgonzola, Limburger, Roqueforte), Grilled Meat
